I started with sound at twelve, mixing in church. At sixteen I went to work for rental companies. At twenty I became technical director of the New Testament Church in Perm: about 4,500 members, services every week. I have worked on the technical side of events ever since, in Russia, Belarus and Israel.

Sound came first, then networks, lighting, video and show control. On a large event you cannot separate these departments. The size and weight of the LED wall decide the rigging, the rigging decides where the PA and the lights can hang, the lighting decides what the cameras see. All of it shares one power supply and one load-in window.

Most of the work happens before the first truck arrives. Floor plans, rigging points, load approvals, power calculations, the network, the load-in schedule, the documentation. The fewer decisions left for build day, the calmer the show runs.

The tools on this site came out of the same work. I wrote them because the software I needed did not exist. I put them here in case someone needs the same thing.
